Abstract
The implementation of Renewable Energy Sources has been proven to be beneficial for local consumers. However, their dependency on weather conditions has a major impact on the reliability of the power supply. This paper presents a method for reliability evaluation of distributed generation, considering the probability of certain weather conditions occur. The method is based on the Markov chain model and considers the probabilities of operational and outage state occurrence. The case study analyzes a radial distribution network consisting of three Distribution Energy Resources (DERs) and a cluster of industrial consumers during distribution substation outage. The results describe three scenarios considering the availability of power generation of DERs and the occurrence of favourable weather conditions.
